The Mendocino County Developmental Soccer League (DSL) represents a dream come true and is a county-wide league for 8 to 11-year-olds. The new league features teams from Ukiah, the Coast, and Willits. During the inaugural season in 2019, over eighty young players received three high-quality training sessions per week with games on Saturdays. Volunteer coaches received professional support and guidance from MCSA staff as they guided their teams.
The growth of the new league is a part of our developmental pathway which allows MCSA to reach more kids in our community with high-quality soccer training. Our select teams range in age from U10 - U19 and include both boys and girls teams. These teams are highly competitive and compete throughout Northern California.
MCSA also holds regular six-week grassroots training sessions for kids aged three to seven. Young players are taught basics and have the opportunity to develop a passion for the game under the guidance of MCSA professional coaches.
In addition to being a great opportunity to learn and play this wonderful game, DSL is a natural bridge from our grassroots program to our select teams. Although our select teams provide a wonderful opportunity for players at a high level, these teams are not for everyone for a variety of reasons. DSL allows us to provide high-quality soccer training while limiting travel to games within the county.
DSL will start its new season in April 2021. Stay tuned to our Facebook page for details.
